This is more of a human story than a cop story, but I hope it still goes with the idea there on the site. I had the honor (I would not say pleasure) of attending the funeral of an officer who committed suicide. Granted this is not being killed on duty, but I have to think the stress of being a cop takes its toll.
Anyway all the cops in the front row were crying. I thought it was interesting, these men we think of as solid as a rock, in their gleaming uniforms which were polished to the hilt. And all of them crying. Not what I expected, but a touching look at how human cops (and I would imagine firemen, etc.) really can be.
